Margaret Dunn is a Senior Library Specialist in the Interlibrary Loan unit at the University of Houston Libraries in Houston, Texas. She processes requests for borrowing, lending and document delivery in the unit using ILLiad. She manages the finances for the unit which includes purchasing books on demand. Successfully obtaining hard to find items in the borrowing process is the favorite part of her job. In each of the past two years, she was awarded a microgrant by the UH Libraries. The first was for providing training for students in the Information and Access Services Department. The current one is for providing services to Distance Education patrons. In addition, Margaret serves as a staff member on working committees at UH Libraries. This is her second career as she spent 25+ years teaching in a variety of settings. Margaret has an MA in Adult Education, a Master of Divinity Degree and an EdD in Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of Houston. She also is teaching online courses Mid America Christian University for undergraduate and graduate programs.
