Resume Building - Supporting Your Staff and Student Assistants

Students apply to work at the library because it is a job on campus and it is convenient to work, take classes and study on campus. What students and (newly hired) staff do not realize when they are hired in the ILL/DDS department at the University of Central Florida is that they are enrolled in a different type of class: the class of building their resumes on a variety of work skills. Most student assistants start as freshman and stay the entire time they are at the University. Most are able to find employment soon after due to the work skills they have developed. Find out how students start with no library backgrounds and leave ready to tackle the “real world.”
